We are a migrating species, but what we have done to countries south of our border for nearly 200 years has been to enrich international corporations and impoverish them. No wonder they come. The ones I know would return home in a heartbeat if they could live in the places they love.

Thank you for this post. Plants are having to migrate, too, including trees. And for doing what they must they are called invasives. It is all connected--the movements of insects, birds, mammals, marine life, human. Thank you for helping us to think and to resist lethal authoritarian cruelty.

I've been watching the green darner dragonflies migrate over the prairie this week too. It's a sight to see! And it's true. All species migrate to the places they can thrive. When the predator is the cause (see also Israel in Gaza) it's even more horrendous to see the predator act like the victim.
